How braces work
Braces use small brackets fixed to your teeth and a thin wire that applies gentle, steady pressure. Over several months the teeth move into better positions and your bite improves.
At Net Dental, braces are planned and fitted by our orthodontist, Dr Harsha, who first checks your teeth, bite and jaw, then explains which option suits you and how long treatment is likely to take.
We treat children, teenagers and adults. Many adults choose ceramic braces or Invisalign because they are less noticeable.

Braces for children and teenagers
Orthodontists often suggest a first check at around age 7, when problems with crowding or jaw growth can be spotted early. Not every child needs treatment at that age: many start braces between 10 and 14, once most adult teeth have come through.

Braces start from AED 299, paid as an initial fee or a monthly instalment. Your orthodontist gives you the full price in writing after the free consultation, before you decide. You can also split payments with Tabby.
Some insurance plans include orthodontic treatment, often with an age limit, a waiting period or a cap, and many basic plans do not include it. Send us a photo of your card and we will check what your plan includes.
Your visit, step by step
- 1.
Free consultation: our orthodontist checks your teeth, bite and jaw.
- 2.
Records: photos, X-rays and impressions or a scan, to plan your treatment.
- 3.
Your plan: the options, how long treatment is likely to take, and the cost in writing.
- 4.
Fitting: the brackets and wire are fitted in one visit.
- 5.
Adjustments: regular visits, usually every 4 to 8 weeks.
- 6.
Retainers: when the braces come off, retainers keep your teeth in their new position.
After your visit
- Your teeth may feel sore for a few days after the fitting and after adjustments. Soft food helps.
- Avoid hard, sticky and chewy food, such as nuts, toffee, popcorn and hard bread crusts.
- Brush after meals and use small interdental brushes around the brackets.
- Call or WhatsApp us if a bracket comes loose or a wire starts to poke.
- After treatment, wear your retainer exactly as your orthodontist tells you, or your teeth can move back.
