Root canal treatment cleans an infected or inflamed nerve from inside a tooth, so you can keep the tooth instead of removing it. It is done with local anaesthetic.

Inside every tooth is soft tissue called the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels. Deep decay, a crack or an injury can let bacteria reach the pulp, causing infection, pain and sometimes swelling.
Root canal treatment removes the infected pulp, cleans and shapes the canals inside the root, then fills and seals them. It lets you keep your natural tooth instead of having it removed. We use digital X-rays and rotary instruments to clean the canals. Back teeth usually need a crown afterwards to protect them.

The tooth is numbed with a local anaesthetic before treatment starts, and many people say it feels similar to having a filling. The tooth and gum may feel tender for a few days afterwards; over-the-counter pain relief usually helps. Root canal treatment usually relieves the pain caused by the infection.
Check-up and digital X-ray to find the cause of the pain.

The infected pulp is removed and the canals are cleaned and shaped.
If needed, medicine is placed inside the tooth and it is closed with a temporary filling until the next visit.
The canals are filled and sealed.
A filling or crown restores the tooth.
Root canal treatment costs AED 750 to AED 1,500, depending on the tooth. Front teeth usually have one canal and cost less; back teeth have more canals and cost more. A crown, if you need one, is priced separately. Your dentist confirms the cost in writing after your X-ray.
